Your intrepid Herder of Otters journeyed through wind, rain, and Minneapolis traffic this past weekend to Minicon, where Narrativity had room parties Friday & Saturday nights.

The spread included charcuterie, assorted nibbles, and thematically-appropriate sugar cookies:
…although the biggest draw, once the word got around, was the Elvis Midnight Snack whiskey (peanut butter, banana, and bacon flavored). Some liked it, some wondered what the hell they’d just drunk; party guest KS described it as “like I just licked my compost pile.”
Due to the hotel’s ongoing renovations, the first-floor ice machine was out of commission; as will come as no surprise to experienced con-goers, by Saturday night the second-floor machine was wiped out. So we had the Minnesota Protest Drinks Bin (no ice).
Entertainments included Cards Against Narrativity and foam swords:
…and of course the excellent conversation that occurs wherever Narrativitists gather. Big thanks to the Minicon folks, who were super welcoming and supportive, and to Pat Scarramuza whose art gave the decorations that Six Impossible Things charm. Extra special thanks to Peggy, Kate, and A.J., whose help and enthusiasm really made the party a success. And welcome to the new folks who signed up for Narrativity this weekend; we can’t wait for you to join us in June!
